RAVE - International Conference 2012

May 9 − 10, 2012 Bremerhaven, Germany

Great success: the International Conference RAVE 2012 attracted more than three hundred international scientists, industry experts, policy-makers, and journalists. With inspiring speeches and a revealing panel debate, the first two days were dedicated to scientific and technical presentations concerning a wide range of research results and operational experience gained from the first German offshore wind farm alpha ventus. Fifty-six stimulating scientific contributions ensured animated discussions.

The side event program of the conference including the excursion to alpha ventus, the visits to wind technology manufacturing sites, research centers and test rigs, as well as the get together at the “Klimahaus Bremerhaven 8°Ost” was very well received and used for networking and further discussions.

All in all, the conference reflected the continuous strong interest in the results of the RAVE research initiative which demonstrates the international relevance of the research results.

Conference topics 2012

  • Environmental monitoring & social acceptance
  • Support structures
  • Offshore measurements & data, health & safety
  • Wind turbine design & loads
  • Wind turbine control and wind farm flow
  • Site conditions
  • Forecasting
  • Grid integration
